2. Parts of a plant.

    ROOTS
    FLOWER
    LEAVES

3. Remember.

    a. The roots absorb water and minerals from the soil and
fix the plant into the ground.

    b. The leaves use sunlight to help make the plant's food.

    c. The flower attracts insects which help the process of
                                                                      pollination.

4. Which parts of the plant do we eat?

               PART OF                                         WE
               THE PLANT:                                   EAT:
                root..................................................carrot

                leaves...............................................lettuce
                flower...............................................broccoli
                seeds.................................................peas
                fruit...................................................tomatoes

5. LIFE PROCESSES.
                     -NUTRITION
                     -INTERACTION
                     -REPRODUCTION

A. Nutrition
Plants use sunlight, water and nutrients from the soil
                      to make their own food.

B. Interaction
     -Plants react to their environment.
-They grow towards the light and
       their roots grow towards  water.

C. Reproduction
-Most plants reproduce by making seeds that grow into
                                           new plants.

     -Some produce spores.

The spores are produced under the leaflets so that they will not be affected by the sun and also it would be less probable for it be caught in sight. The plant while bearing the spores is called a sporophyte. This is how the reproduction happens after the production of spores.

6. REMEMBER.

             Plants give us oxygen.
Deciduous trees lose their leaves in winter.
Plants can make their own food.
Some plants are born from seeds.

7. REMEMBER.

    -DECIDUOUS TREES.
-They lose their leaves in autumn.
-Oak trees are this type of tree.
-They have branches, roots, a trunk and leaves.

    -EVERGREEN TREES.
-They produce leaves all year round.
